ASQA Updates on Maintaining Quality VET: Annual Declaration on Compliance

It’s time for the Annual Declaration on Compliance (ADC)! The ADC is a process that helps maintain quality VET in Australia. It starts on 17 April 2023 and ends on 17 May 2023. If you are a RTO, your Chief Executive Officer will receive a unique web link via email at the start of the submission day.

Before starting the process, check if your records are up-to-date on and asqanet and update them if necessary. If Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) manage your RTO’s registration, you don’t have to submit the ADC to ASQA. QCAA has its submission process this year.

What is the Annual Declaration on Compliance in ASQA latest news?

The ADC is a statement confirming your RTO has followed the 2015 Standards for RTOs for all certifications issued in the last 12 months. By completing this declaration, you confirm that your records are correct and up-to-date, you follow and meet regulatory requirements, and you can spot and fix potential risks.

Completing the Annual Declaration on Compliance

Once you receive the email with the unique web link to your survey, you can complete the Annual Declaration on Compliance form. Here are a few reminders to ensure you complete the requirements properly.

  1. Regularly conduct internal audits or self-assessments to identify and resolve non-compliance risks.
  2. Please review, edit, and save your information before submitting the form.
  3. Print, save to PDF, and/or email a copy of your answers immediately after submitting your form.

New Training Providers

If you are a new training provider, check your registration start date. ICYDK: Strategic Review of Online Learning in the VET sector

Finally, ASQA has released the final report for the Strategic Review of Online Learning in the VET sector. The report concludes that quality VET can be delivered online. Still, it depends on various factors such as the training product, student cohort, trainer and assessor’s skills, tools, technologies, and processes for delivering online.

Despite that, many students prefer blended learning. This trend allows RTOs to expand their offerings and give students more options across the market. If you have any questions or comments about the strategic review of online learning in the VET sector, don’t hesitate to contact the Regulatory Policy and Engagement team at
