Bolstering Australia’s VET with National Training Register Enhancement Project

National Training Register Enhancement Project

The National Training Register Enhancement Project aims to improve the technology and infrastructure behind the National Register for vocational education and training. The current system, training.gov.au (TGA), is outdated and challenging to update, making it difficult to keep up with the sector’s changing needs. By improving the National Register, the project will allow faster development and updating of training products, as well as reduce duplication of training across sectors.

Future-Proofing Vocational Education and Training in Australia with National Training Register Enhancement Project

The goal of the project is to ensure that the National Register can support the vocational education and training sector for years to come. The project team is working with state and territory governments and regulators to ensure the changes are user-friendly and meet the sector’s needs. In short, the National Training Register Enhancement Project is about future-proofing vocational education and training in Australia.

Call for Feedback

The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) asked for feedback on the planned changes. Regular users of TGA were asked how these changes would affect them. To gather insights and opinions, DEWR created a survey that ended on 19 May. It helped the department understand the impact of the changes and ensure they’re meeting the needs of users like you.

If you have any questions about the National Training Register Enhancement project, contact the department at ntrreform@dewr.gov.au
